Crossbridge began as the Nazarene Church in Ottawa, IL in the
1920s. In the early 2000s Crossbridge (then “Ottawa First Church of the
Nazarene”) began to experience growth as a result of refocusing their mission
and strategy. Another Nazarene Church on the southside of Ottawa chose to merge
with Ottawa First Church and the journey into multi-site began.
In 2013, Ottawa First Church experienced dramatic change.
The southside campus was closed and the building was renovated to become an
Administrative Center for the growing staff. That same year Harvest Community Church
in Peru, IL shut their doors and merged with Ottawa First Church. The building
was renovated, a new campus pastor was hired, and Ottawa First Church changed
their name to Crossbridge Community Church of the Nazarene.
Today, Crossbridge runs approximately 1400 in attendance on
the weekends (1200 in Ottawa and 200 in Peru) with 83 active groups and
thriving ministries. Crossbridge continues to actively strategize for future
campuses in the Illinois Valley in an effort to continue leading others into a growing
relationship with Jesus Christ.
